David Jaffe chats with NeoGAF: very surprising
We like this guy. We got the interview with GameTrailers, and we like his openness, sense of humor, even his sense of fair play. So when we heard that NeoGAF were able to hold an hour-long phone conversation with David Jaffe, we wanted to hear what he had to say.
And what we heard, we like. Again: he’s open, he’s forthcoming, he’s very fair-minded, even when he’s opinionated, and he surprises you. This isn’t us fawning over the guy, mind you. He may work for SCE Santa Monica, but he’s not ashamed to say he owns a 360 and is looking for a Wii. Like we said, he surprises people.
In this hour-long phone conversation with NeoGAF, you’ll hear about Jaffe’s humble beginnings in the 90’s as a QA tester, and how this was his break into the industry. He even offers his opinion on how those of us who wants to follow in his footsteps can break into today’s industry. There’s tons more, including God of War, Calling All Cars, and his take on the games industry, from design to costs to fellow game designers.
And if you think this interview will leave our PSP Updates at the bus stop, fret not: you’ll hear this guy’s appreciation for the PSP, including some of the games he’s playing on the portable (woo hoo! He likes the new Ace Combat!), and the mysterious “Project HL” – but we’re not going to spoil it for you.
That’s why there’s a download link below this sentence, remember? Too bad he wasn’t roaring drunk, he was adorably funny at the Playboy Mansion party!
