Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures gets go signal on Xbox 360
It was a rumor that was born months ago, but it’s only now that we’ve heard anything of an update. And what better kind of an update but that of confirmation (as opposed to the debunking of a rumor)! Yes, Funcom‘s highly-anticipated dark fantasy MMORPG Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures is unsheathing its broadsword onto the Xbox 360.
The upcoming game has recently received the green light from Microsoft and Funcom can now start developing their title for the 360. They’ll now have the chance to access a potentially whole new MMO market on the 360.
Naturally, how would an MMO survive on the console if it didn’t support Xbox live? Funcom CEO Trond Arne Aas states:
The fast-paced and innovative combat system in Age of Conan will suit the demanding console audience perfect. We believe the amazing online capabilities of Xbox 360 will be a great match for MMOs like Age of Conan, and as one of a handful officially approved MMO games for the console we aim to create a unique, brutal and powerful online gaming experience.
How was that for a teaser? Although the game will come out for the PC on May 2007, there’s no mention as of yet when they plan to release a version for the Xbox 360.
