Man who killed child over Xbox now on trial
Tyrone Spellman, the man charged with killing his own daughter over an Xbox, is now on trial. The accused claims he “snapped” when his 17-month old Alayiah pulled the Xbox’s cord causing it to fall over.
In statement to the police Spellman said, “[he] popped her in the face. [He] picked her up and tossed her in a chair” when he thought the system was damaged.
Alayiah’s autopsy revealed “tremendous injury” inside her head “caused by at minimum three separate blows” to the right side, top, and back of her skull. Alayiah’s skull was so fractured a piece of bone had fallen out.
Spellman was held for trial on charges of murder, endangering the welfare of a child, and related offenses.
