PSP: The pre-2007 review
This 2006 has been a very busy year for a lot of us, and for Sony‘s PSP console, the year’s been good. Why wouldn’t it? It’s had decent UMD titles, a price drop, and the PS3’s sales to bolster it along. And with the end of the year just a few weeks away, somebody out there thought it was high time to give Sony’s little portable an early gift.
IGN’s just finished compiling some of the major events and developments that have helped boost the PSP’s stature for this year. And for those asking, here’s a brief summary of what to expect in their PSP tie-up:
Top Ten PSP titles:
From Killzone: Liberation to the recently released MGS:Portable Ops, IGN’s letting the guys in on what games have been the year’s top sellers, and what sort of goodies these games have that made them such hits.
Top PSP news of the year:
This section will be covering the major PSP-related news we’ve heard for the year. Expect expect news as saddening as Lik Sang’s recent closure, or as reassuring the PSP’s recently announced ability to download PS1 titles.
Top Events of 2006:
This section will be covering details on the major gaming events of the year, including the likes of the TGS and the E3.
Game Tips of 2006:
The section covers some of the most sought-after game tips of the year. Killzone is once again mentioned, as are Daxter and LEGO Star Wars II.
Midterm Corrections:
This section’s something of a reflection on IGN’s part, and their follow-up thoughts on awards they’ve given out to game titles within the year.
Looking to 2007
The last bit’s their final thoughts on the PSPs future, given what’s been happening in 2006. And with the new hardware and features that are just beginning to make their debut – plus another set of launch games.
