Japan all-formats charts: DS still on top

Big in Japan...GamesIndustry reports that the DS is still dominating the Japanese all-formats charts. The little handheld has 14 titles in the top twenty, while its slightly bigger brother, the Wii, only has two titles in the top ten. Sad part here is that Zelda: TP has dropped out of the top twenty.

So what titles are on the top ten? Two Pokemon titles lead the charts, with Pokemon Diamond selling well over 123,000 units and Pokemon Pearl another 97,000. Kirby Squeak Squad is at the third spot, and the New Super Mario Bros title is at five. The top seven are all basically a bunch DS games.

The two Wii games that squeezed into the top ten are Wii Sports and Pokemon Battle Revolution.

So that’s 7 DS games, and 2 Wii games. So what’s the lone non-Ninty title in the top ten? It’s Wild Arms 4 for the PS2. Yep, they love their turn-based stuff.

Whadya expect, it’s Japan.
