NPD: North America sales numbers
As we enter 2007, let’s take another look back at last month, and catch up on an updated console report by NPD. According to the said firm, the Xbox 360 won out in last year’s Christmas rush, with the Wii coming in a close second.
From November to December 25, the Xbox 360 recorded a total of two million units sold all over North America. With regards to the Wii, NPD reports that Nintendo sold roughly 1.8 million units since its November 19 launch, only 200,000 less than the Xbox 360’s sales numbers.
Sony‘s PS3 came in at a 750,000 for the same time slot. Don’t consider this a final count, though. This report is just a preliminary statement from the NPD group – the complete figures are expected to be announced later this month. Until then, we advice the fans to stay frosty, and resume their gaming.
