Halo mobile developer In-Fusio sues Microsoft
When the mobile portal for Halo was released even prior to the Xbox 360 version, it felt like there’s a problem in there somewhere. The mobile version, for purposes of discussion, will be updating users with different goodies such as wallpapers, ringtones, game tips and even Xbox Live statistics. Yeah, it felt like there was a crack somewhere but we didn’t think it would come to a lawsuit action.
French developer In-Fusio has always claimed that the portal is a prelude to a full mobile game. Then one thing lead to another (it all happened behind closed doors) and now the developer believes that Microsoft Corporation has been ignoring their efforts on purpose. In-Fusio, in their petition, maintained:
Microsoft has thwarted In-Fusio’s efforts to develop Halo under the agreement. Indeed, in the last 11 months, Microsoft has approved no fully developed In-Fusio game designs – ignoring and then refusing to accept In-Fusio’s game design concepts with little or no explanation and leaving In-Fusio little basis to revise its concepts to obtain Microsoft’s approval.
Furthermore, with that in mind, In-Fusio withheld their second of four US$ 500,000 payment to Microsoft. They are seeking damages and injunction on the publishing giant. Microsoft, on the other hand, has yet to make a move or issue an official statement.
