New scans for It’s a Wonderful World

What a wonderful world

We don’t know where Jeux France gets their magazine scans, but we certainly are thankful for them, as  they’ve dug up more scans of the upcoming Tetsuya Nomura-directed RPG known as It’s a Wonderful World.

One thing you’ll notice here is that, in the screens, there’s a mysterious woman dressed in some sort of devil costume, black wings and all. We’re not sure if she’s the game’s embodiment of Death, or simply one of the members of the death god group known as Shinigami Corp., but you can be sure she’s doing something dastardly. Her presence on the same page as a shot of Neku using psychic force to lift and strangle Tsuki makes that sort of association rather certain.

One other thing to note is how the game’s theme ties into the similar-sounding movie “It’s a Wonderful Life.” In that movie, the story follows George Bailey, as an angel shows him just what might happen to the world if he had never been born. In It’s a Wonderful World, Neku has to find a way to defeat death to keep him from being negated from existence. In both cases, the negation of one person’s life has profound effects on the world. Perhaps in the Wonderful World scenario, the absence of Neku’s existence could actually bring about the end of the world. You never know.

Until we learn more about Square Enix‘s exciting new DS game, keep checking here for updates. Enjoy the scans!
