Command & Conquer 3 gameplay sounds… alien to me
For a moment, this writer thought his speakers have gone on the doggone fritz again, until he noticed that the gunfire SFX sounded fine. But that still didn’t account for the weird sounds as though they came from… well, Prey. Then he decided to take a closer look. Uh, Mother? Methinks we found the aliens in our backyard.
Yep. The “so far we haven’t got a single clue about who they are” otherworldly third faction in EALA‘s Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, are now featured in this GameVideos gameplay clip. How else can we explain the following?
- Alien SFX – as though ET decided to visit a dentist
- That doesn’t look like the Hand of Nod now, does it?
- Notice the EVA interface isn’t burnished GDI-gold or blood-red NOD? It’s Galactic Senate… okay, it’s alien purple. Either way, no faction in the Tiberian, Red Alert, or Generals continuities was ever colored purple (GDI = Gold, Allies and US = Blue, Nod and Soviets = Red, GLA = Green)… waitaminute – Yuri was purple… but then he did have flying saucers, and a penchant for dominating the world with his mind, too (thanks for the heads-up, Daeda!).
- Was that a portal from whence their units come through? (Hmm… “Clearly Tassadar has failed us. You must not.”)
- There’s something about the (human fascination for) alien fascination for tentacles, insectoid designs, and energy-based weapons with SFX like ET visiting the dentist.
