Setting the date for Blazing Angels PAL
The much-awaited launch of the PS3 is not the only cause of excitement in Europe. Tagging along Sony‘s next-gen console is Ubisoft‘s World War II plane-based shooter, Blazing Angels. IGN had a chat with the game’s lead designer from Ubisoft Romania, Bogdan Bridinel. Here’s what he had to say about it, and what European gamers can expect from it.
On the introduction of the SIXAXIS‘s motion sensing to the gameplay, Bridinel admits that they didn’t really know what to expect at first. But fortunately, it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. And although they aren’t sure as to how many players will actually make it as their standard playing method, what’s important is that the motion-sensing controls do add to the experience of fun play.
Now, while the PAL version will be identical to the U. S. one, which was released just last month, this doesn’t mean that the PS3 version will be exactly the same as with the 360 version.
Most of the changes are refinements based on our post mortem of the game and on the feedback that we received from players and the press. There are many tweaks to the missions and the game mechanics aimed at making the game less linear and more challenging, but also a number of more significant changes.
Some of these “more significant changes” include the fully-reworked dialogues, some new HUD elements, a new multiplayer mode called Assault, as well as two new single player missions.
While the PS3 still has no set date for its European launch, we’re glad to know that this title does. Blazing Angels: Squadron of WWII is set to fly to PAL skies on March 30th, at an MSRP of US$ 59.99. In the meantime, here are some new screenshots for you to appreciate.
Full collection awaits after the jump!
