UK’s peripheral prices confirmed: not cheap
Heads up, UK readers. Sony‘s finally announced the prices for the PS3 peripherals you might want to get once the console comes out in March. They’re not cheap, but then again, the console isn’t cheap either.
First off are the extra control systems for the PS3. Extra SIXAXIS controllers will cost UK gamers £ 34.99 (US$ 79). If you’re looking for something that’ll work seamlessly with the Blu-ray capabilities of your console, then you could also buy a PS3 remote control for £ 17.99 (US$ 35).
You can also pick up a host of cables for your high-definition needs. Sony’s cheapest cable peripheral, the S video cable, will set you back £ 12.99 (US$ 25). You can also pick up first-party HDMI, AV, and component AV cables for 17.99.
As we mentioned before, now would be a good time to save up extra cash for these things once the console ships on March 23. Of course, you could always stick to using the cables that come with the unit, or buy third-party peripherals, but just remember: you could be voiding your warranty if you do that.
