Break free: 512MB Memory Cards, US$ 50.00, March 1
It might be official, after all. GameStop‘s got pic, date, price, preorder. And it even comes with a bonus. Prior speculation about up-gunned Memory Cards, in response to Konami‘s Castlevania: Symphony of the Night busting Arcade guts, had pegged it at 256MB. But wait, the preorder is for 512MB of portable, “Mommy can I go to Timmy’s house to play XBLA?” Microsoft-branded memory storage.
Really, I am touched. *Snifff* Size matters, after all. Does this loosening of the belt on the Memory Card foretell a loosening of the belt (officially speaking) for Arcade games? It IS still a question of how you use it, and there were great games under the 50MB limit. But oh, how the widening of one’s horizons also means the prospects for adventure… You know how it goes, right? “We’re soaring, flying, there’s not a star in heaven that we can reach…”
Or maybe it just means more stored Arcade games per Card. Eh, who knows, really?
