Game Informer: “Mercenaries 2 coming to Xbox360”
According to the German site GameFront, the latest issue of the American magazine Game Informer carries an article stating that the Electronic Arts title Mercenaries 2: World In Flames is headed for the Xbox360. However, we’re not certain if the said article has actually stated this outright or not. We only have a description of the page which reads (weird English translation, courtesy of Google):
On the first side of the report only the Xbox 360-Symbol is to be seen, on the continuation pages also the PS3 in the headings is only mentioned.
We’re guessing that this basically means that it was probably a two or three-page article, and that the first page which normally bears some basic information about the game carries the Xbox 360 logo, but that this is not repeated or mentioned throughout the rest of the report.
Unfortunately, we currently don’t have a copy of the Game Informer issue that the report is referring to, so we can’t verify if this is indeed the case. Whether this is a confirmation of a port or a printer’s mistake remains to be seen, but with the release of this game due this year, we’re also hoping that a final confirmation or denial would make its way to the public soon.
(Now, for a public service announcement: Alright, we know that we have already been hearing rumors about this issue since way back in July 2006, and it has caused quite a lot of commotion among fans who wish to see this title as a PS3 exclusive. However, we wish to clarify that at the moment, this title has not yet been officially announced for the Xbox 360. So, until that happens, the Rumor Flag goes up, it is simply tagged as Game Informer’s opinion, and fans of both the Xbox 360 and the PS3 are requested to calm down and take their heart medication. Okay? Good.)
