DS gets Sony artist as endorser
Japanese pop star Shoko Nakagawa is seen in this ad enjoying herself with the DS. This adorable Japanese idol is known to be a manga and anime-lover, as well as being knowledgeable about retrogaming.
While there’s nothing fancy in this ad, it just goes to show that Nintendo isn’t resting on its laurels just yet, despite the really good numbers in hardware sales for the DS, especially in Japan. And getting a local pop icon wouldn’t hurt a bit, but would in fact only boost its popularity more. Ironic, though, that Nakagawa would promote Nintendo when she is signed under the label Sony Records.
Just a thought.
