S.T.A.L.K.E.R. goes G.O.L.D and bold

For all the S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl fanatics who momentarily stopped breathing when reports of a possible release delay came out, we have great news for you. At the recently held THQ‘s Gamer Day event San Francisco, THQ Executive VP Kelly Flock announced that GSC Game World is right on sked in that their highly anticipated FPS for the PC has gone gold and is now prepped for massive production.

Oh yes indeedy. Originally entitled Oblivion Lost, S.T.A.L.K.E.R has been in production at GSC’s labs for well over five years now and based on the trailers and screens we’ve been seeing lately, it looks like they have something to show for those five long years of development.

And before we forget, THQ went all out in announcing the game’s gold status so they also released a whole bunch of new screens to give you guys a glimpse of what the game looks like NOW. So yeah, you can exhale now and take another deep breath as you feast your eyes on the gory goodness that is S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl.
