Official North American PSP Website Updated
The official Sony North American PSP website has been updated today for PSP firmware version 2.01. We have known about the release of 2.01 via Wi-Fi download for a couple of days, but now Sony have put up the official details.
What Sony does reveal about the difference between 2.0 and 2.01 is this:“
– When updating from version 2.00 to 2.01, the only revision to the system software is the addition of a security patch.
Notice
This update is for customers who own the PSP (PlayStation Portable) system model number PSP-1001. DO NOT update your PSP system through this Web site if you own a different model of the PSP system. There is no guarantee of proper operation with other models of the PSP system.”
You can get it in our PSP Download section [here].
You can check out the official Sony website [here].
NOTE: Currently there is no known way to downgrade from 2.01 to 1.50 and this version is the same as 2.0 except that it adds a security fix that will prevent a downgrade from happening the same way.
Still have firmware version 2.0? Want to downgrade to 1.50 and run homebrew games and programs? Check out our downgrader post for all the information you need to downgrade from firmware version 2.0 to firmware version 1.50. You can view it [here].
