Come aboard South Korea’s Xbox 360 bus

The love bus is so old school. It’s not even punk rock. What’s “in” now, especially in South Korea, is the Xbox 360 bus careening down the open highways. Here’s a couple of snapshots for those who want to see the said attraction:

On my way to lunch today, I spotted this xbox360 bus parked at a really busy intersection. The sign basically says “Everything attractive that draws/pulls exists inside/here.” “Opening the age of perfect HD gaming” or “the age of perfect HD gaming is open,” take your pick. Then there is a picture with Gears of War on the back.

But seriously now, Microsoft‘s marketing strategies have been received in various ways by fans and gaming industry hotshots alike. It can be remembered that several Ottawa High School students were recently suspended by their school’s administration for re-enacting an old Xbox 360 advertisement that involves a mock gun fight.

On the other hand, Mr. Hironobu Sakaguchi recently commented that the catchphrases “Jump in” and “Do do do” are not considered as particularly cool in most Asian countries. He suggested that Microsoft should try harder. We wonder how the Xbox 360 bus is doing in Korea. What do you think, guys?
