Disgaea Portable for US – interview with Sohei Niikawa
We’ve been waiting for Disgaea‘s port for the PSP for the longest time, as Japan has had it since last November (and we’ve been pining away for it since then). Gamespot was able to score an interview with Sohei Niikawa, managing director of Nippon Ichi Software Inc. Wait. US version. Disgaea Portable. In the same sentence?
In the video interview, Sohei Niikawa discussed why its taking them so long to release a US version for Disgaea Portable. According to him, it was done to ensure that they will be able to satisfy their US fans with the inclusion of the adhoc mode. What’s the difference between the PS2 version and the PSP port? As with other ported titles, devs worked to have the game take advantage of the portable console.
A record keeper was added so stats and records can be shared with others. There’s also a place where music can be purchased allowing players to change the music in a certain dungeon or just have it as a music player. The Disgaea Portable Japanese version and the US version will also have a number of differences as the US version will have the adhoc mode plus additional characters and scenarios.
Whew. So what do you think would happen to Etna if she ended up killing Laharl rather than waking him up? We’ll find out when Disgaea Portable releases in North America this Fall. We’ll shut up now and let you watch the video, you can also check out the some screens. Want more? Click the via link below.
