Premades won’t make an appearance on PTRs
A lot of World of Warcraft players have been clamoring in the official WoW forums for the availability of premade characters on the public test realms. While the fun factor of playing a premade level 70 character bristling with epic gear is certainly quite an attractive prospect, premade characters can also prove to be counterproductive.
According to Blizzard poster Drysc, the devs “want players to play characters they’re familiar with, to get the most out of their experience and test reports.” A player who hasn’t even hit level 50 and is using a premade level 70 character with a class he’s not even familiar with would be hard-pressed to identify possible bugs. He’d be too busy flexing his level 70 muscles to notice anything amiss.
Drysc also said that there’s still a chance for premades to make a comeback. However, it will only be in very specific circumstances where their availability is seen as “a positive means to get more players testing specific high level content.”
