Thanks to Nintendo, we now have some more details as to how much fun online play will be for Mario Strikers. According to Nintendo, you will be able to play alongside a friend on a single Wii unit and on the same team, against two other players also hooked on the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection network.
Then, the “Friend code” system will also be up and running, apart from the random matches being offered. They will, however, be region-locked so there’s no chance for you to get pitted randomly against players from other regions. But there’s still no reason to pout because there’s actually a workaround for this. If you are, for example, in Europe, and you’ve got a friend hanging around in, say Australia, and you happen to have his friend code, then you’re all good to go.
