Rumored changes to WoW’s Holy priests
Straight from the official World of Warcraft community site, there are rumors circulating that Blizzard is thinking about implementing some changes for the Holy Priest. Well, as it is, the holy priest is considered to be the most versatile healers in the MMO game, if not the best. Some even claim that they are better than the restoration druids.
Anyway, according to community member Ontzlake, these changes came from Blizzard’s Jeffrey Kaplan (aka Tigole):
- Binding Heal: The mana cost has been reduced by 32%. The tooltip has been adjusted to indicate it is a low threat spell, which was already the case.
- Circle of Healing (Holy) effect increased.
- Empowered Healing and Holy Concentration now affect “Binding Heal”.
- Pain Suppression now reduces damage taken by 65% and increases resistance to Dispel mechanics by 65% for the duration.
Well, we don’t know what to impart to you guys, but some forum members are somewhat irked by these rumored changes. For example, Ontzlake argued that when it comes to Circle of Healing, it’s just that this spell scales horribly with gear because it is instant cast and an AoE. He added that it doesn’t provide enough HPS to use reliably.
There are currently a lot of discussions going on in the community, but Blizzard moderators seem to be not too keen on commenting on the issue yet. Eyonix was the only one who’ve posted so far and clarified some things about Binding Heal,
In addition to being cheaper to cast than two flash heals, generating noticeably less threat, Binding Heal will now also be fully uninterpretable with the first Hallowed Raiment set bonus and talents in focused healing.
