New Puyo Puyo Wii details revealed
New modes and new challenges await Japanese folks who want even more Puyo Puyo! action. And if the popularity of Sega‘s Puyo Puyo franchise is anything to be concerned about, this is one preview that American and European fans may also want to have a look at. IGN’s revealed some new information about the upcoming Wii version of Puyo Puyo!, and it looks as if they really want fans to work together to solve puzzles this time.
There are two new modes to play with, for example. There’s a cooperative mode known as “Puyo Puyo Together,” where you and a friend have to work on the same playing field, with each player getting a piece of his own. In “Remote Controller Puyo Puyo,” you use the motion-sensing capabilities of two Wiimotes to control the actions of the falling pieces: one for movement, and another for rotation.
In addition to new modes and updated graphics, the newest addition to the Puyo Puyo family also sports four-player multiplayer and additional gameplay quirks, such as rotating game fields. All we can say is, “Game on!”
The Wii version of Puyo Puyo! will come out on July 26 in Japan and will retail for ¥4,800 (US$ 40).
