Wii, up; PS3, down; PSP on the rise: Japan hardware sales for week ending April 22
Multi-colored pie charts for the win! The above screen capture (click to enlarge!) shows the results of Japan‘s hardware sales for the week ending April 22.
As you can see, the Nintendo DS still remains as strong as ever, raking in over 128,000 unit sales, while the PSP seems to be struggling with a little less than 30K. The good thing about PSP’s numbers, though, is that it gained some substantial ground from last week, with an 11% increase. In this week’s charts, that’s the highest percentage increase among the others.
Over at the console arena, the Wii is stuck on top with around 76 thousand in sales, while the PS3 (falling back a staggering 17%) is notched at second with a round-up of 11,000 unit sales. While the PSP had the highest percentage increase, the PS3 has the highest percentage decrease. Sony‘s doing the 1-2-Step, huh? And finally, trailing behind the next-gen consoles is the Xbox 360, with its valiant effort of 2,666 in sales.
