Midway licences Quazal middleware for next gen titles

Midway Games recently licenced two technologies from middleware provider Quazal – Rendez-Vous and Spark! The said technologies are utilized mostly for online options like in-game lobbies and matchmaking features.

The said agreement will cover an unspecified number of next gen video games for both Midway’s internal and third party developers. The partnership will also give Midway’s developers easier solutions for unique online options that they would want to add.

Both Midway and Quazal are enthusiastic about the agreement. Quazal’s developer relations manager Mike Drummelsmith said, “It’s a pleasure to be available as a component for Midway’s exciting lineup of upcoming games.”

The upcoming Midway titles that will sport the said technologies remain unspecified. Will it mean better online options for gamers? We certainly hope so.
