Like clockwork: Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass scans and details
Japan‘s got even more Zelda-loving for us. And although some of you guys might be bitter about them getting The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass as early as June 23 of this year, these scans are more than enough to make up for that fact. While some details in these “Nintendo Dream” scans (from Jeux-France and translated by TheHylia reader Patricia) have already been revealed before, it doesn’t hurt to flesh them out even more.
Some of us know the story quite well by now (we’re not repeating the whole gist here), but how does that all play out throughout the game? Here’s a simple framework of what we can expect to be doing during Phantom Hourglass:
- Explore the underground temple
- Find a new sea chart
- Go to new island found in sea chart
- Beat the monsters on the island and get some sand of time
- Continue to explore the temple and repeat steps 2-5
- Find the ghost ship(?)
Simple, yes? While some screenshots in the scans confirm the reappearance of the Gerudo, other details have also been revealed especially with regards to controls. Patricia translates:
- If you touch with the stylus a point far from Link, he’ll run there (and he’ll jump automatically if needed), whereas if you touch a near spot, he’ll walk there.
- Touching the arrows that appear on the screen will make Link move objects in that direction.
- Link has three different sword attacks, depending on the way you move the stylus.
