Yet another Wii injury story

Wii injury - Image 1We’ve heard it all before: Busted TVs, broken ceramics, cut limbs and twisted ankles. The Wii may be getting marketed as the most fun way ever to lose weight, but some people are learning it the hard way.

Christian Lutap and girlfriend Heidi were exhilarated when they finally got their hands on the hard-to-find and always in-demand console. He was a little embarrassed to tell friends about it, but he loved it like nothing ever before.

After playing a few rounds of Wii Sports by Nintendo, Lutap twisted his knee and was driven to a hospital by Heidi who was holding back her laughs. The doctor who checked on Lutap was frazzled and couldn’t relate to what actually happened. He was sent home and was alright after a few days.

Lutap says he still plays with his Wii and just takes extra caution these days. “It was really awkward, telling my doctor I injured myself playing video games,” he says with a chuckle.

These reports don’t seem to faze the fans a bit, though. Roughly seven months after it launched, the Wii is still the most sought after game machine currently in the market, and sells out in a matter of hours after new stock is released.
