Epic flight form and herb gathering – overpowered combination or bug?
The transformers, er… druids of the World of Warcraft can shapeshift into something that would better suit a particular situation. Along with cat and bear forms, they now have the flight form. Some players actually got the flight form to make their herb-gathering easier.
Druids in any other form can gather herbs except for the normal flight form. Kanehbosm from the World of Warcraft Forums complained that the “slow” flight form should be able to gather instead of just the other forms. Other players also asked by the Epic flight form can gather herbs while the normal one can’t. Blizzard poster Drysc was on hand to answer the concern:
It wasn’t intended that the epic flight form be able to pick herbs while hovering, and thus free of aggroing surrounding enemies. With ground-based forms you’re obviously able to aggro surrounding mobs if you aren’t careful. So, they’re just a little bit different in that regard and being free from danger while collecting herbs … well I think that paints its own picture.
So it wasn’t intended after all. Though druids shouldn’t be so down about it since their instant cast flight forms allow them to pick herbs faster than most people.
