GameStop has Pilotwings’ placeholder back

For the older gamers, Pilotwings was one of those really cool video games that ever graced the SNES and Nintendo 64. We got some reports from internet hamsters who spotted a placeholder for a Wii sequel. The placeholder shows a shipping date within this year: 12/31/07.

Pilotwings is a flight simulation title where players go through a number of “training” levels with exercises featuring different aircrafts: light planes, rocket belts, hang gliders, and helicopters. There’s even a skydiving exercise. Many players have been waiting for the sequel for years – and we can hope that the GameStop placeholder holds some promise of coming true.

For now, though, all we can do is cross our fingers until we can get solid confirmation of Pilotwings for the Nintendo Wii. We’ll keep you posted.
