Gran Turismo 5 to have in-car viewpoints
It looks like there’s going to be at least one big difference between previous versions of the Gran Turismo series with the currently in-development Gran Turismo 5. According to a profile of Polyphony Digital made by French motorsports show Turbo, gamers will have the opportunity to drive their cars from the inside, complete with virtual steering wheel and dashboard.
Kazunori Yamauchi, head of Polyphony Digital and creator of the Gran Turismo series, said this on the show, “Here’s a scoop: We’re also modeling the dashboards because you can drive from the interior view in the upcoming Gran Turismo 5.”
GameSpot, however, tempers the news somewhat by mentioning that Sony hasn’t made any announcements on the Gran Turismo franchise. Still, it’s nice to hope we’ll be able to go beyond the usual views we’ve seen in racing games so far.
