Europe to get price cut announcement at E3
Following the confirmation of the PlayStation 3 price cut for North America, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has given GamesIndustry.biz a heads up regarding the console pricing for their side of the Atlantic.
According to the report, the announcement will be made during the E3 Media and Business Summit (to be held on July 11 to 13). Reportedly, the announcement will cover the price cut announcement made by SCEA – from US$ 599 to US$ 499 – and the debut of the new 80GB PS3. The new model will come bundled with a copy of MotorStorm and will sell for US$ 599.
This is certainly something to look forward to for the fellows in Europe, especially for those who have been saving up for Sony’s console. Currently, the PS3 sells at GBP 425 (EUR 599, or around US$ 850).
