E3: Silent Hill Origins trailer

Konami promises to take us back to Silent Hill’s chilly roots in this latest installment of the series, Silent Hill Origins. Checking out the handheld game’s E3 trailer offering, we are compelled to believe they hit the mark.

A driving scene under heavy rain? Check. Freaky girl with mysterious powers? Check. All the ingredients are there, and we can’t help but smell an authentic Silent Hill title brewing in the air. The same old chilly atmosphere that made heartbeats triple in speed is back; it’s on the PSP, and it looks awesome.

As far as gameplay is concerned, we’ve seen classic “run in the dark then whack-that-freak” action. For now, put that steel pipe down. Calm down and be patient, here’s the trailer.
