Mario Party 8 recall, assembly error to blame
A lot of Mario fans in the UK were saddened to hear that their much awaited Mario Party 8 for the Wii had been recalled not long after hitting store shelves. This led to a lot of people asking: WHY?!
According to reports, a single solitary word may have been the cause of this massive UK recall. Some people had noticed that the word “spastic” was included in one of the character’s sentences. While this may not be considered offensive in American English, it holds an entirely different meaning in British English. The word is viewed as abusive slang for “an ungainly or physically inept person” in the UK and it has been speculated that this very same issue may have been the reason for the game’s previous delay.
As of now no relaunch date has been given, but alas the discs are being recalled anyway. We’ll let you know about any important dates to look out for as they get confirmed.
