NesterJ v1.10 Beta 3 W.I.P. Update
Ruka has been working hard since our last report of the new version of his NesterJ, the best Nintendo NES emulator for the PSP. He has just released version 1.10 beta 3 on his homepage.
The first phase of the objectives has been achieved – 60fps on most of the games when V-blank is turned on, fullscreen and 44.1 KHz sample rate for sound. The next phase will be adding the extended audio source to the emulator.
Ruka is now in a great need of beta testers and volunteer coders who can test and report the issues to him, or help improving the emulator. If you happen to find a bug in the beta version, or have some ideas for improvements, please visit the bug report section of his site to post it (this is a Japanese site, you may need some Japanese knowledge to read and post there).
Here is the changelog since v1.10 beta:
- FDS audio source related fixes
- Fixed the strange audio issue when sample rates is other than 44100.
- FDS audio source volume adjustment (made the volume a bit louder than before).
- Emulation speed boosted (around 5%?).
- Now it is possible to select default palette (graphics part)
NesterJ remains the same with the older versions. Nintendulator seems the same with Famicon Mini. - Battery display and other minor changes
v1.10 beta2 ->v1.10 beta3
- State save related menu refreshed (changed to uoSNES9X-like).
- Analog controller change to 4-direction buttons.
- GPU algorithm optimized (When using GPU drawing the speed will be 10-20% faster).
- FDS audio source adjusted again (turned up).
- Low battery announcement
*Use the left direction of the analog stick to enter the menu.
Ruka still don’t want the beta version to be re-distributed. If you really want to try out the new version and help Ruka with the project, please head over to his homepage and download the beta version on yourself.
