Konami announces Portable Ops expansion
A new Metal Gear Solid title is on its way to the Sony PlayStation Portable handheld system. Well, kind of, anyway.
According to video game news site IGN, Konami has announced Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops +, an expansion for last year’s Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops during Sony’s PlayStation Premier event in Tokyo.
The expansion will apparently focus on online play and, as with any expansion worth its salt, will also include new stages and characters. Konami is also reportedly adding a new single player mode called Infinity Mission.
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops + is currently slated for release in Japan on September 20. It will be available both as a standalone purchase for 2,400 yen (US$ 20) and as part of a Deluxe Pack that includes the original Portable Ops for 4,300 yen (US$ 35).
