Phyalgeom Aid v1.0 (because algebra is so cool)

Hey, some of us are geeks too. And I think geometry is like the coolest thing ever invented since the toothpick. That’s why, when Mr305 dropped by our forums earlier to announce his entry into the NeoFlash Summer Coding Competition, some of us here *ahem ahem* were fit to burst in glee.

Phyalgeom Aid v1.0 is, as the developer claims, “the complete academic suite.” It can help you find answers to the most common problems that students might come across in physics, algebra, and geometry. Equations to formulas are given, and all you have to do is input the numbers into their own variables. Here’s a couple of functions included in the homebrew application that you can get solutions for:

  • quadratic equations
  • arithmetic/geometric sequences
  • Newton’s law of gravity between two objects
  • average acceleration, final distance and velocity
  • surface areas and volumes of cylinders, pyramids, etc

Right now, the application is in its v1.0 phase – what the developer refers to as “The Caveman” stage – and as it is, it’s pretty well done already. Mr305 is requesting for some suggestions though. If there are any other formulas that you think he could incorporate into future versions, then post them in the forum release thread (linked below). Hey, Mr305, what about projectile trajectories, probability equations, and… oh oh oh!, derivatives!
