Nintendo plans on expanding Virtual Console
Nintendo has given word signifying plans of expanding the Wii Virtual Console service by adding more games available for download. Furthermore, these new additions will not be re-releases but brand new titles.
This move is expected to start next year, with the game and console publisher to focus on educational and puzzle games initially. Nintendo plans to eventually produce games in other genres with larger production values as well.
The company also had some good news for aspiring game developers. In addition to producing their own games, the company plans on acting as a publisher for games from smaller developers as well.
All the games are expected to be sold for about US$ 8 each, making it well within the reach of the average gamer. Hopefully, Nintendo will be following this up with a data storage device for the system considering the amount of stuff they’ll be churning out.
