Silent Hill Origins demo leaked from Leipzig, gameplay captured on video
It’s been a while since we last heard from Konami‘s Silent Hill Origins, but now it’s back in a big way – albeit in a rather shady one, as the game’s demo seems to have been smuggled from Leipzig and ripped for play on homebrew-capable PlayStation Portables. Of course, that’s a bit unbelievable, considering the security in such events – that’s why there’s a video of six tense-filled gameplay minutes to convince you, as embedded below.
One thing yours truly noticed right away is the fact that the camera tracks you in a way that not only looks good, but can actually increase the tension as you go along – certainly a throwback to the days of Harry Mason and hacking up Silent Hill residents with a katana. We also see how one saves, and it’s with the glowing triangle marks you’ll be able to find on cleverly-hidden spots. And of course, a brief yet terrifying fight scene with a nurse. Creepy.
In any case, enjoy the video – with the lights off.
