New Disaster: Day of Crisis details emerge
Nintendo Wii owners looking for a little bit of more hardcore-themed gaming will be happy that Monolith Soft Disaster: Day of Crisis is shaping up to be a nice action game. It features a plot reminiscent of The Rock and will pack a solid gameplay punch as well.
As it turns out, there’s been a bit of an overhaul in the project’s development that sidelined it for some months but all’s well again. The story tells the tale of a United States stricken with natural calamities and reeling with damage to its infrastructure. To make things worse, rogue elements have seized nuclear weapons from a high-security military base and have taken the President hostage.
Unless the demands of the terrorists are met, they plan to deliver a nuclear strike on the American heartland. You’re a special forces operative who’s out to thwart their plans by saving the commander in chief and recovering the nuke. It’s a task easier said than done with all the dangers lurking around.
Aside from your enemies who themselves are former military men who broke away from the US chain of command, you must brave the natural disasters that are picking the nature apart. It’s the biggest test of survival you’ll face, so be sure to leave no stone unturned because everything can go haywire in an instant.
No details have been revealed as to how the controls will be for this Wii scorcher but the source of the news tells us that the game will be fully voiced over. As of press time, the source affirms that primary voice acting has been completed and peripheral pieces will soon follow.
No launch date has been specified for Disaster: Day of Crisis but according to the latest reports, Nintendo intends it to ship by 2008’s first quarter. We’ll give you updates as soon as new details come up.
