EA developing FPS for Command & Conquer?
A job posting on Electronic Arts website offers some interesting info on a new game. While it currently reads differently than how GameSpot reported, the post could have been easily modified, especially after GameSpot contacted EA for a comment.
While nothing is definite, the job opening does imply a few things that can be taken as a step a little further beyond speculation. One, the new game is a first person shooter, and two, it will be part of one of EA’s franchises. These can be taken directly from the description of the job opening. Here’s the job posting as reported by GameSpot:
Does the idea of contributing your specialized knowledge in sound design to the next-generation gaming platform for EAs widely recognized leading sci-fi franchise get you pumped? […] EA has an exciting opportunity for a sound designer who will work closely with the audio director on creating sound effects, dialog, and music for a next-generation first person shooter game.
Currently, the post doesn’t contain the same info: the emphasized text in the passage currently sports a more vague description. GameSpot theorizes that the most logical guess among EA’s franchises would be the Command & Conquer series, as a sequel to their previous C&C shooter, Renegade.
If it turns out to be true, the Command & Conquer franchise may be seeing a new addition to its already rich series of games. At the least, we can expect a new “next-generation game” from EA. Updates as we get them.

i’m not sure about the last line, i want to delete it but i want to offer the readers something besides a vague promise.
it’s categorized under news because it has a base fact. also under rumor because, well, it bore a rumor.
also, i don’t know how to link to the actual job posting:
