Crysis demo pushed back to October 26
Those who are eagerly waiting for the multiplayer beta for Crytek‘s Crysis should better be ready for some let down. The start of the single player beta period has been pushed back for a whole month, from the original September 25 to October 26.
The reason? Crytek needs some extra time on tweaking the game, and doesn’t want to compromise the November 16 release date. Here’s part of the apology letter, written by Cevat Yerli, CEO of Crytek:
We have some news to announce.
First, I am sorry for the bad news – the Crysis single player demo will now be available everywhere on October 26th, 2007.
We are taking some extra time to make sure you that you have an amazing experience but also we did not want to risk the release date of Crysis at this stage. To get the game into your hands by November the 16th, we had to make this call.
However, the letter continues to a more positive note: the demo will be released with the CryEngine – Sandbox 2 game editor so that players would be able to familiarize themselves with the tools used in the game, four weeks before the game is released.
Well, it certainly sounds a good deal already. Do stick with us for future updates!
