Namco Hometek Inc. today released a new trailer for its upcoming real-time strategy game for the Nintendo DS, “Real Time Conflict: Shogun Empires.” Featuring an innovative control scheme via the DS touch screen and wireless multiplayer action for up to eight players, the game will battle its way into stores this October.
In “Real Time Conflict: Shogun Empires,” players take on the role of one of two brothers who are engaged in bloody combat in feudal Japan. Overtaking nearby territories and amassing fearsome armies, only one warrior will be able to survive the deadly feud to realize his ambitions and claim the title of Shogun.
Taking advantage of the unique capabilities of the Nintendo DS, “Real Time Conflict: Shogun Empires” features an original control scheme that lets players manage their armies using the system’s touch screen. This intuitive system lets players give orders, change formations and select units with ease, leading to smooth, organized battles rarely seen outside of a PC real-time strategy game. In between conquests, players can take part in touch screen mini-games, such as castle sieges and sea battles. For the ultimate in feudal warfare, “Real Time Conflict: Shogun Empires” lets up to eight players go head to head in ferocious battles using the wireless capabilities of the Nintendo DS.
