Dracula X Chronicles launched in Japan, next game probably on DS
Japanese fans now have their own version of the long-awaited Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles. Koji “Iga” Igarashi along with Castlevania artist Ayami Kojima kept fans busy during the recent Dracula X Chronicles Japan launch.
Mr. Kojima apparently had a lot of things to say to fans during the event regarding the game and a possible new entry in the series. Find out what Igarashi-san talked about during the launch after the jump!
Koji “Iga” Igarashi, producer of Konami‘s epic Castlevania video game series, recently launched Akumajo Dracula X Chronicles for the PlayStation Portable in Japan.
Both Igarashi and Castlevania artist Ms. Ayami Kojima spent the launch day at Sofmap Akihabara signing autographs, talking about development on Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles and entertaining fans’ questions about the game.
Igarashi was reportedly pleased that Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles is finally done. It was also said that the producer has begun working on the next game in the Castlevania series, most probably for the Nintendo DS.
He also talked about the challenges in producing the game for both Western and Eastern audiences and the differences between Dracula X Chronicles and the original Chi no Rondo.
Igarashi-san’s Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles is the PSP remake of the classic PC engine game Akumajo Dracula X Chi no Rondo. The remake features new cutscenes, new dialogue, a remastered soundtrack, and a quicksave feature not found in the original PC engine game.
