Tekken: Dark Resurrection – New Info & Screenshots


Namco has released more details of the incoming PSP fighting game “Tekken: Dark Resurrection”.

Compared to the other “Tekken” titles in the series designed for gaming consoles, the PSP is unique for various elements, and one of them is the diversity of the game modes.

– Tekken Dojo

The player will be able to visit the island owned by the Mishima syndicate for some training. There is a facility called “dojo” (gymnasium) on this island, where the data of elite fighters around the world gathers. It is possible to fight them in the virtual world there.

The player will start from the most basic training after entering the dojo. You must fight your way through all the tournament battles and league battles to gain higher rankings. Once you get the 1st rank in that dojo, you can be promoted to the next one. Fight through all the way towards the final throne of the Tekken King is your ultimate objective in this mode.

– Network

This is the game mode designed exclusively for the PSP with its WiFi capability. In order to play in this mode, you will need 2 PSPs and 2 copies of the “Tekken DR” UMD game.

– Arcade Battle

There will be ghosts appearing for you to fight with. The level of the ghost is decided according to your ranking. You will be able to earn Fight Money from victories, and gain higher rankings by winning the Ranking Test.

– Quick Battle

Take on a CPU-controlled character in an instant action. You can also form up a team with up to 8 characters to ignite a “Team Battle” in this mode.

– Story Battle

This mode remains the same to the “Story Mode” from the PS2 game “Tekken 5”. You can experience the per-character based story with in this mode.

– Attack

This is a mode in which you challenge yourself. There are 3 sub-modes in this mode: a “Time Attack” mode in which you fight for shorter beaten time, a “Survival” mode in which you are given limited HP and a “Gold Rush” mode in which your attack value will be converted to bonus.

– Practice

This is the game mode for new comers of this series. You can go through a tutorial, or take a freestyle fighting, command training, basics of the fighting game and exclusive practice of mid-air combo, defense.

– Profile

You can change your player name, or use the fighter money to customize your character in this mode. You can also view the high score records.

– Theater

Watch the movies and listen to the music tracks which you gained during the game process.
