Xbox UK VP: Xbox 360 currently the number one console

In an interview, Xbox UK Regional Vice President Chris Lewis talked about the Microsoft Xbox 360 being the number one console today, and the great lineup of games going for the 360 this holiday season. With 13.4 million units sold and the highest games attach rate at 6.3 games per console, Lewis believes you can’t go wrong with the value-for-money video game platform by Microsoft.

Chris Lewis, Xbox UK Regional Vice President, didn’t hold back to show his confidence with the Microsoft Xbox 360’s offerings this holiday season. He believes the Xbox 360 is “the number one console on the market,” and its strong presence will continue as year 2007 comes to a close.

In an interview, Lewis shared his ideas about the console wars and the 360’s success. When asked how the console he’s backing up fares in the UK, Lewis replied:

To date we have currently sold about around 13.4 million Xbox 360 consoles across 37 countries worldwide and we continue to hold the record for the highest games attach rate, at 6.3 games sold per console. For the past year, Xbox 360 has been the number one console in EMEA so we think we’re in a pretty strong position and are happy with where we are.

He foresees no problems this holiday season, and points at big titles like Bungie Studios’ Halo 3, Bizarre Creations‘ Project Gotham Racing 4, BioWare‘s Mass Effect, and other exclusives as major factors that will keep gamers occupied.

Even with Sony’s decision to lower prices and offer better PlayStation 3 deals, Lewis remains certain that the 360 has better value-for-money and should be attractive to all audiences with over 300 games under its belt.
