2K Sports announced today that a new video game called Don King Presents: Prizefighter is in the works, and is scheduled for release some time in Spring 2008. The title will be available on the Xbox 360, Wii and DS platforms.

According to the press materials sent to us, Prizefighter is an in-depth, documentary-style boxing game that hopes to capture the deepest, most authentic and entertaining gameplay experience.

Furthermore, the new title is being developed by Venom Games, a studio not new to boxing simulation games. In case you don’t know, it’s the same studio that brought Rocky and Rocky Legends to the original Xbox and the PlayStation 2.

“Our goal has always been to deliver the most engaging and realistic titles, and Don King Presents: Prizefighter will exceed these expectations”, said 2K President Christoph Hartmann. Likewise, promoter Don King himself seems excited as he commented:

In all my years working in professional boxing, I have never seen anything come as close to recreating the thrill, the intensity, the courage, and the spectacle of the sport.

Don King Presents: Prizefighter is more than a game – it is a glimpse at what life is like in and out of the ring for these incredible athletes.

Details for each specific build of Don King Presents: Prizefighter  have yet to be revealed, but we are certain that 2K Sports will be releasing more information in the coming weeks.
