Following the announcement of the latest Sony PlayStation Portable firmware being successfully decrypted and a new custom firmware made out from it, Sony PlayStation Portable homebrew developer _HellDashX_ has finally given in and released PSP CFW 3.37 HX-1 into the wild. Tally ho, Sony PlayStation Portable homebrew enthusiasts!
So, what’s new this time around? Apparently, not much, except for the fact that it’s based on the most recent firmware that Sony has put out. It also seems that this release is still in beta form, with the release post notifying readers that should they encounter any bugs while using the firmware, they should report it posthaste.
Installing this particular firmware isn’t difficult, but by no means should you not take it seriously (after all, this messes with the innards of your PSP). Simply unzip the downloadable archive into the root of your PSP, launch the Update 3.73 application, and simply follow the instructions displayed from there. Note that your PSP must at least be on Custom Firmware 3.71 or higher to be eligible for upgrade, and preferably hooked up to a stable power outlet.
Once again, please make sure that you’re up to speed in updating Custom Firmwares before doing anything else, as any mistakes during the updating process could potentially brick your PSP.
