MTV Games, Jerry Bruckheimer to develop new games
It looks like Jerry Bruckheimer‘s in a roll when it comes to involvement in the video game industry. Bruckheimer is already gearing up for his latest Prince of Persia movie project, and now he’s being tapped by MTV Games for creating original video games. More details in the full article!
Good news for fans of Jerry Bruckheimer‘s films: MTV Games has managed to strike a deal with the internationally renowned film and television producer to create new, original games.
So why strike a deal with someone who didn’t have previous experience in making games (with the exception of Bruckheimer helming the Prince of Persia movie project)? According to Jeff Yapp, MTV’s Executive Vice President of Program Enterprises, he didn’t care about Bruckheimer’s level of video game knowledge. Yapp explained:
What I wanted was his ability to tell a story that uniquely connects to an audience and now to give him a new set of tools, which is the interactive set of tools that he has not had the opportunity to play with yet.
While the exclusive deal is already agreed upon, there are currently no available details as to what kind of games Bruckheimer has in mind. When asked what kind of games he will produce with MTV Games, Bruckheimer’s response was, “I couldnÂ’t tell you until we get a team together. The gestation period is like movies. It takes a while.”
