Geometry Wars a huge success
New Xbox Live figures reveal Geometry Wars as the most successful Xbox Arcade title as of now (shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone who played it), achieving a conversion rate of 39%, meaning almost every second person who downloaded the Geometry Wars demo from Xbox Live also bought it.
This makes it not only a Xbox smash hit, but probably also a shareware smash hit in general: Usually, conversion rates for shareware games hover around the one to two percent mark on portals such as Yahoo! Games.
While there are a lot of other factors involved with Geometry Wars’ success (buying Xbox Arcade games is usually much less of a hassle than buying PC shareware), it’s sheer quality is the biggest – and it shows.
