Square Enix has revealed new characters of Sony PlayStation 3 titles Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII, according to a report from someone who was fortunate enough to view the Jump Festa 2008 trailers behind closed doors.

Blogger Maiki detailed what she saw in Square Enix’ Jump Festa offerings. For FFXIII, a girl in white dress with feathery hair has appeared on watery surface while playing a harp. We’re yet to find out if she’s going to be a party member, so she could even be the Guardian Force Siren from Final Fantasy VIII returning as a summon.

Another female with ponytails was introduced, as she summoned a small white creature with tints of green on its face from flying discs (Monster Rancher, anyone?). Some believe the creature to be Carbuncle, and the ponytail girl is apparently the game’s summoner.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII‘s showing unveiled three new male characters that are related to the black haired protagonist we’ve seen in previous Versus trailers. Maiki noted text that flashed on screen saying something similar to “the organization of destruction” before a mafia-like organization entered the scene.

Soon after, “fugitive” described a man with a shotgun who took the spotlight. One more male character, someone with a scar over his left eye, came in to give “Shotgun Guy” a headlock, while another man with glasses who’s staring into space was seen behind them.

Remember the black cars in the last FF Versus XIII video? From what was revealed at Jump Festa, the one with the game’s protagonist also carried the three new guys. Not long after, the group was found on top of a building before leaving the scene.

The blond heroine with a sword who was introduced when Square Enix showcased trailers of various games in closed megatheaters, called Veruko by Maika, showed up along with a man donning a robe to wrap things up.
