Gran Turismo 5: Prologue Online Patch now out in Japan
The long wait for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue‘s online patch is now over, now that the patch has finally been released in Japan. Check out the screenshots and more details such as online racing modes and racing locations in the full article!
The much-awaited online patch for Polyphony Digital‘s Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is now out in Japan and it looks very impressive so far. It’s a good thing that one of the posters in NeoGAF, DJmizuhara, managed to capture some screens of the new Gran Turismo 5 Prologue online patch, giving other gamers a peek at some sleek ultra-realistic racing action.
Apparently, the online racing events can hold up to 16 players, depending on the racing track. The new patch includes four real race events in the following locations: Daytona (up to 16 players), Suzuka (up to eight players), and Fuji Speedway (both 8 and 16-player races).
There are also four time trial events in Prologue, held in Daytona, Ziger, and London. According to one of the posters in NeoGAF, what is remarkable about the time trials is that the time trial leaderboards are uploaded in real-time per lap, updating the racer’s ranking per lap completed. Of course, there’s still the inherent problem of lagging in the online racing sessions, but it mostly depends on the player’s connection.
All in all, online racing in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is one sweet treat, both in terms of eye candy and gameplay. Just so you know, the online patch is out only in Japan for now, so if you want some good online Gran Turismo 5 Prologue action, you’d have to create a Japanese PlayStation Network account.
